Hey, I’m Michelle Aiko. I also go by Miga.
I care about creating thoughtfully crafted products. I believe the artifacts we surround ourselves with should be designed to improve lives and support our community members.
I am currently designing on Firstrade's UX team.
Previously, I designed for Yo! Magazine, an online Japanese-American publication that serves as a platform for thought-provoking opinion pieces with a focus on identity and culture.
Before that, I was working as a medical assistant en route to Physician Associate school.
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with two degrees: Integrative Human Biology and Global Poverty and Practice.
Spending the past year in Vietnam changed how I see design—not just in screens but in the spaces around us. My background in UX taught me how people interact with systems, and I started noticing the same patterns in cities. The way we move, gather, and experience place is all design. Now, I’m exploring how to bring human-centered thinking into physical spaces, creating environments that feel intuitive, inclusive, and deeply connected to the people who use them.
